Terms & Conditions

TM Computers LLC โ€” Last updated: September 2026

By leaving your device at TM Computers for diagnosis or repair, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before authorizing any work.

1. Repair Pricing & Authorization

Repair pricing is quoted at drop-off and recorded on your repair ticket. By leaving your device, you authorize TM Computers to perform the quoted repair. If additional issues are discovered that would increase the price, you will be contacted for approval before any additional work is performed. Quotes are valid for 7 days and do not include sales tax or card surcharges (see Section 5).

2. Repair Risk

Devices brought in for service are already damaged or malfunctioning. Diagnosis and repair, including disassembly, microsoldering, component replacement, and power testing, carry inherent risk. Devices with liquid damage, corrosion, prior repair attempts, or board-level faults may fail completely or lose additional functions during or after service, even when the work is performed correctly. Corrosion may continue to spread after repair.

You accept these risks, and TM Computers is not liable for further failure of a device that was damaged or malfunctioning when received.

Repairs may also affect water resistance, adhesive seals, cosmetic condition, and manufacturer-paired features (such as Touch ID, Face ID, True Tone, or battery health reporting), and the device may display non-genuine part notifications. We cannot guarantee that any repair will be successful.

3. Warranty

All repair work performed by TM Computers carries a 30-day warranty on parts and labor, starting from the date of pickup. This warranty covers defects in workmanship and parts installed by TM Computers. Our sole obligation under this warranty is, at our option, to re-perform the repair or refund the amount paid for the affected repair.

The warranty does not cover:

  • New damage occurring after the repair (drops, liquid damage, power surges)
  • Virus or malware infections occurring after the repair
  • Issues unrelated to the original repair
  • Devices opened, modified, or serviced by anyone other than TM Computers
  • Liquid-damaged devices, beyond the specific component replaced

Warranty service must be requested within 30 days of the original pickup date.

Except for the 30-day warranty above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, all services and parts are provided "as is." Any implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to 30 days from pickup.

4. Parts

Some repairs use aftermarket or refurbished parts unless OEM parts are requested and available. TM Computers is not responsible for loss of any manufacturer warranty resulting from service.

5. Payment

Payment is due in full at the time of device pickup. Devices will not be released until payment is received in full. Partial payments are not accepted unless prior arrangements have been made in writing.

Accepted payment methods: Cash and Venmo. Credit and debit cards are accepted by invoice upon request.

Sales tax: All quoted prices and estimates are before applicable Utah sales tax, which is added to the final total regardless of payment method.

Credit card surcharge: Payments made by credit card are subject to a surcharge of up to 3% of the total, not to exceed our cost of card acceptance. This surcharge appears as a separate line on your invoice. No surcharge applies to debit card, cash, or Venmo payments.

Disputing a charge (chargeback or payment-app dispute) for authorized, completed work is a breach of these terms. You agree to pay reasonable collection costs and attorney fees incurred to collect any amounts owed.

6. Repair Attempts & Unrepairable Devices

We offer a free quick look of up to 10 minutes before check-in. This is a basic inspection to help you decide whether to leave the device, not a full diagnosis, and no repair work is performed. Once you leave your device for repair, it is accepted at the price quoted at drop-off. Board-level repair requires significant bench time, testing, and expertise whether or not the repair is successful.

If, after a repair attempt, your device cannot be repaired, a repair attempt fee applies. The amount is agreed at drop-off and listed on your signed repair ticket. This fee covers the labor and testing performed and is due before the device is returned. No fee applies if you cancel before work begins.

Unrepaired devices are returned in their unrepaired condition and may be partially disassembled or unable to power on.

7. Abandoned Devices

Devices not picked up within 20 days of notification that the repair is complete, or that an unrepaired device is ready for return, will be considered abandoned. TM Computers reserves the right to:

  • Charge a storage fee of $5 per day after the 20-day period
  • Sell, recycle, or dispose of the device in accordance with applicable Utah law to recover unpaid repair charges and storage fees

We will make reasonable attempts to contact you by phone, SMS, and email before taking any action on an abandoned device.

8. Data & Privacy

You are solely responsible for backing up your data before service. TM Computers is not responsible for the loss or corruption of data, software, or settings for any reason, including during diagnosis, testing, or repair. Some repairs may require wiping the device or reinstalling the operating system. Where practical, we will notify you before intentionally erasing data. Data recovery is a separate service and is never guaranteed.

You authorize TM Computers to access the device, and data on it, only as needed to diagnose, repair, and test it. If we encounter content we reasonably believe to be illegal, we may report it to law enforcement.

Your personal information (name, phone, email) is used only to communicate with you about your repair. We do not sell or share your information with third parties.

9. Ownership

You represent that you are the owner of the device or are authorized by the owner to approve its service. You agree to indemnify TM Computers against any claims arising from ownership disputes or from the contents of the device. TM Computers may cooperate with law enforcement regarding devices reported lost or stolen.

10. Pre-Existing Damage & Accessories

Device condition is recorded at check-in as observed. Please inform us of any known damage at drop-off. TM Computers is not responsible for damage or defects present before service.

Devices that do not power on or cannot be fully tested at check-in may have additional faults that are not detectable until repair; such faults are considered pre-existing. The absence of a note on the check-in form does not mean a condition did not exist.

Please remove cases, SIM cards, memory cards, and accessories before drop-off. TM Computers is responsible only for items recorded on the check-in form.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TM Computers' total liability for any claim relating to a device or service shall not exceed the amount you actually paid for that service. TM Computers is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost data, lost profits, business interruption, or loss of use, even if advised of their possibility. This limitation does not apply to damage caused by TM Computers' gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah. Any disputes arising from services provided by TM Computers shall be resolved in Salt Lake County, Utah.

14. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
